I have cleaned them with a good brand wash and wax in warm water which didnt do much.
I went to halfrauds and got a alloy wheel cleaner which was safe for all types of alloys as I dont like acid based cleaners and they cleaned them a bit but there is still stubborn bits left.
Is there a really good non-acid based alloy wheel cleaner that will clean these wheels no probs? If so any links??
Cheers

You could use bilberry wheel cleaner.(very kinds to your alloys) http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheels-and...-/prod_499.html
You will need the bottle and the sprayer aswell. 5 litre works out cheaper but 1 liter lasted me a year
Quick video of it in action. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVziDlyKAE4
If you leave it on for about 10 mins and then aggitate with a brush it will remove most marks. that video was dilluted 50:50 with water and only left for 5 mins.
If that does not clear it get yourself a clay kit to get rid of the really stubbon stuff

I can also vouch for Bilberry which is good stuff. You could also consider Very Cherry - http://shop.autobritedirect.co.uk/very-cherry-acid-free-wheel-cleaner-83-p.asp I've just bought some of this but havn't tried it yet. As Micky says, with both of these cleaners, leave the cleaner on the wheel for 10 minutes to let the stuff do its work. Once the weather is a bit kinder its a good idea to take all your wheels off and clean the back of them. Also give them a good coat of polish or wax and this will make cleaning easier in future.

Well Lepsons recommended using a normal slightly abrasive polish to remove this grime I seem to have on one wheel and then I'll be using Poorboys Wheel Sealant to wax it.

A wheel sealant as PinkRinse mentions or I use stuff called Rim Wax although some people just use normal car wax which saves you buying a specialist product and would be better than nothing at all.

I rarely use anything on wheels, try to avoid it, I just use some car wash Gold Class soaped up in a bucket and a wheel brush, presently spraying the car with a mix of Gold Class in a spray bottle, so I do wheels also and leave it a few mins. If I have to some weak APC cleaner. Prepared to try Bilberry though.
